SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY INFO

I believe the school portrait is a pivotal part of the educational experience.  Think about it…the portrait is printed on a piece of photographic paper and then passed out to loved ones who will keep it safe for years (even decades) to come. The photographs that remain of our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents are most likely of their yearly school portraits from years past.  It is a representation of a moment when they dressed in their Sunday best, perfected their hair, and put on a smile undoubtedly practiced in the mirror for days ahead of time.

And not much has changed.  The school portrait is a very important part the child’s journey.  It’s a special moment when they walk up to the photo booth on their own, sit down, and do everything their parents have asked them to do that morning while making sure their special outfit and hair is styled perfectly.  Walking out the door to catch the bus, they are further given the important instructions of “smile pretty”, “sit up straight”, and “look at the camera”.  It is an early moment in their life when they take responsibility for a special moment and now it’s being documented for the whole world to see.  I am here to guide them through that and to make sure they are successful in this endeavor of creating an image that shows a little of their personality and a lot of their beauty…just so their great-great-grandchildren will someday look at that photo and smile.

For your school's portraits I have the technical skills and equipment to do either indoor or outdoor portraits. For picture day, you have a choice of the classic portrait background look or I can do an indoor or outdoor environmental portrait using a unique part of your school for the background.  I will be happy to set up a pre-day meeting to discuss the photographic options of your school facility.
